We hold two local meetings in March every year. 

Thurs March 21st, 2023- 6 pm to 7:30 pm at Grant Wood AEA 4401 6th St SW Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52404

These meetings cover rule updates, scheduling, umpire questions, scenarios, etc. 

We also do on hands/ live training in March. Those times and dates are yet to be determined

We do not provide any gear. Umps must provide all their own gear- shirts, hats, mask, chest protector, leg guards, pants, ball bags, shoes, belt, etc.

All of our umpires must register with USSSA in order to umpire. This covers doing a background check that must be complete before working any of our tournaments. Once you have paid the registration fee you will get a separate email to start the background check process

There are three options

$50- covers background check only

$80- covers background check and insurance for USSSA events

$105- covers background check and insurance for any event/ sport(s) you may work

If you are 17 or younger the cost is as follows

$42- just registration and insurance for USSSA events. No background check for minors. 

$54- covers registrations and insurance for any event/ sport(s) you may work. No background check for minors. 

We allow for very flexible scheduling where you can work as much or as little for what fits your schedule in a typical weekend. Certain time restrictions, number of games, location, etc. can be worked out for every tournament you would work.
